Angelina Jolie: Bad ass celebrity fighting for peace

She’s fierce, she’s talented, and she’s also one of the most generous people in this world. Jolie uses her celebrity to bring awareness and donate to various causes, having recently donated to the Malala Yousafazi foundation which sends support and aid to women in Pakistan.  While filming the popular Tom Raider in Cambodia, she learned about serious refugee issues and turned to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for help.  For the past 15 years, she’s been working in countries all over the world including Sri Lanka, New Delhi, and Syria, aiding survivors of natural disasters.

Opened in 1991, the camps in Dadaab were designed to accommodate 90,000 individuals, but the population is now 285,000 and growing due to arrivals of up to 7,000 a month. In 2006 Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie created the Jolie-Pitt Foundation to aid those in crises around the world. They donated $1 million to Doctors Without Borders to launch their campaign.
